Not Enough Milk – Breastfeeding Series
Worried that you may not be producing enough breast milk for your baby? Many parents experience this concern, especially during the early weeks of breastfeeding.
Signs that your baby is getting enough milk include regular wet diapers, audible swallowing during feeds, and steady weight gain. Frequent feeding and cluster feeding can also be normal.
To support milk production, breastfeed regularly, check your baby’s latch, and offer both breasts as needed. If your baby has fewer wet diapers than expected, seems unusually sleepy, or is not gaining weight, contact your pediatrician or lactation consultant promptly. A healthcare professional can assess feeding and help you find the right support for you and your baby.
